Terms of Use
Last updated October 14, 2026
The short version
Klavy is an independent practice tool for residency interviews in dermatology, and it is free to use. It is not affiliated with any residency program, hospital, the AAMC, ERAS, NRMP or any specialty society. It does not influence selection or the Match, and using it does not improve your chances by itself. Practicing does.
1. What Klavy is
Klavy is a self-directed practice tool. It plays interview questions aloud, records your answers on your own device, and reports measurable things about your delivery, such as speaking pace, filler words and answer length. It also gives written coaching notes and example answers for each question.
2. What Klavy is not
- It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any residency program, hospital, medical school, the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), any specialty society, or any other organization.
- It does not guarantee an interview, a ranking, a match or any other outcome, and no one should present it as doing so.
- It is not career or medical advice. The coaching reflects general good practice, not how any particular program evaluates applicants.
- Some questions are ones applicants have reported being asked in dermatology residency interviews. Those reports are self-reported and unverified. No question is an official or confirmed question from any program.
- The example answers are illustrations written by Klavy, not scripts to memorize, and they describe no real person or patient.
- The interviewer characters are fictional. They do not represent real faculty at any institution. Their voices, and any interviewer video, are AI-generated, not recordings of real people.
3. Price
Klavy is free, and you never need to give an email address to practice. If we ever introduce paid features, we will show the price and any purchase terms before you are asked to pay, and nothing you do while it is free will result in a charge.
4. Who can use Klavy
You must be at least 18 years old. Klavy is intended for medical students and graduates preparing for residency interviews.
5. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Klavy for your own interview preparation. You may not resell it, redistribute the question bank, coaching, example answers or guide, or repackage the content as your own. Schools or groups that want to use it with students should contact us first.
6. Your recordings and your responsibility
Recordings stay on your device and are erased when you close the tab. We cannot recover a session for you. If you want to keep a transcript, export it before you close. Only record yourself where you are comfortable being recorded, and do not record other people without their agreement. Do not include patient information in your answers; the example answers never do, and yours should not either.
7. Requirements
Klavy needs a modern browser with camera and microphone permission. Automatic delivery scoring needs the speech recognition built into your browser. Most current browsers, including Chrome and Edge, provide it; some do not. Recording and playback still work without it. How your browser handles speech recognition is described on the Privacy page.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Klavy running and improving, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the product entirely, we will give reasonable notice so you can export anything you want to keep.
9. Acceptable use
Do not try to get around how the site works, extract the question bank or example answers for redistribution, use Klavy to build a competing product, or use it in any unlawful way.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Klavy is provided free, "as is" and "as available." We do not promise that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will produce any particular result. Coaching, scores and example answers are general guidance, not a prediction of how any program will evaluate you.
We are not responsible for selection decisions, interview outcomes, Match results, or opportunities you believe you lost by using or relying on Klavy. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to Klavy is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. These limits do not apply to our gross negligence or willful misconduct, or to any liability that the law of New Jersey does not allow to be limited.
11. Reviews and feedback
If you send us a review, feedback or a help request, you let us use it to run and improve Klavy. We will not publish a review or feedback under your name without your permission.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to Klavy will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top will change, and for material changes we will say what changed on this page. Changes apply from the date they are posted and not to anything that happened before.
14. Contact
Klavy is operated by a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon in the United States. Questions and anything else: use the Help & contact form at the bottom of the practice app.
